Fed's Duke urges women to take charge of finances

I came across a very uplifting article today in the Washington Post. The Federal Reserve Board Governor Elizabeth Duke urged women to become financially educated. She said that women should take control over their own finances by reviewing their budgets and investing for their futures. I totally agree with this ideology I believe that as women we should be able to make sound, rational financial decisions that will improve our standards of living along with our families. The idea of women becoming more financially education is very important due to the fact that women are generally paid less than men, have longer life expectancies, are more likely than men to be single parents and are more likely to work at part-time jobs that do not offer retirement benefits. With these sad statistics women need to be armed and ready with the know-how to better support themselves.
