In Colorado, a young girl by the name of Kassidy Atwater was told earlier this week that she was not allowed to try out for the boy's football team. She was orginially told by the Head Coach that she couldn't try out because she was a girl.Thankfully, the school's principal got involved and overturned the coach's decision to allow Kassidy to try out. Kassidy's mother was very surprised to learned that the coach wouldn't allow her daughter to play because she played on a boy's team the previous year and also won an award. In my opinion, I don't see why girls and boys can't play together. Yes, boys are generally bigger and heavier than girls, but as long as the girl and her family no the risk involved with playing full contact sports I don't see why the two genders can't play together. I feel that society sometimes gets trapped in gender roles and this forces girls and boys to feel that they have to follow in line with what society wants.
